According to the company, Iwatsu Icon Series includes a self-labeling feature key that makes feature operation accessible and intuitive for the user. It also includes a scrolling ticker field display feature that displays customer-specific information from the web on the station LCD, and an integrated Bluetooth headset interface for mobility in the office. Iwatsu’s Bluetooth integration is expected to allow users to pair the same headset used with their cell phone with an Iwatsu Icon Series telephone.
Four Iwatsu Icon Series models will be released by the end of 2008. These sets range from the entry level IX-5800 with a two-line display and full-duplex speakerphone to IX-5930 executive model with a 15-line LCD that is navigated with self-labeling keys.
Michael Marchioni, vice president of product management at Iwatsu Voice Networks (IVN), said: During the initial usage studies we heard people complain about the appearance of business phones they used. Because of responses like those we decided to take a serious look at the aesthetics of the phone and how that impacts the person using it.
