BORLAND WITHDRAWS ITS NEW(ISH) SUBSIDIARY’S SUIT

Rather less litigious than most companies in the industry, Borland International Inc has filed in Federal District Court for the dismissal of the cases brought by its Ashton-Tate Corp against Fox Software Inc and Santa Cruz Operation Inc before Borland bought it; Borland says that for many years it has maintained menu names and command structures are functional systems not covered by copyright law.
