ADVANCED MICRO APPOINTS SUNRISE

By CBR Staff Writer

Advanced Micro Devices Inc has appointed Moscow-based assembly company Sunrise as its only official Russian distributor: the Muscovite is the US company’s largest Russian customer. The deal does not effect other assembly companies that buy direct from Advanced Micro in Germany. Despite very large demand in Russia for 66MHz 80486 DX2 processors, following their withdrawal from the market by Intel Corp, Advanced Micro has none available for this market at present. It said the 100MHz Am486 DX4 will likely be the best selling processor in 1995.
