Management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, Accenture and prime contractor CGI partner to provide the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) with technology architecture and an Enterprise Data Warehouse to help organisation deliver and manage its mandated services.
Through an extensive analysis, FTB has identified business challenges in areas including data availability, business processes, system redundancy, self-services, data analysis and business entity tax system flexibility. To meet these challenges, FTB initiated the Enterprise Data to Revenue (EDR) project with prime contractor CGI, said Accenture.
To provide FTB greater system flexibility and improved operational efficiencies, as well as implement an Enterprise Data Warehouse to provide centralised data processing and integration of disparate data currently stored in multiple systems, Accenture will implement service-oriented architecture (SOA) and workflow architecture components.
Accenture North America Health & Public Service, managing director Dan London said the new project is key to the State of California’s efforts to identify and collect billions of dollars in additional revenue over the next several years.
"In the midst of California’s financial challenges, we look forward to working with CGI and the State to leverage modern approaches to enable the tax system to better serve the needs of California state government, citizens and businesses," said London.
