3COM WINS $50M DEUTSCHE BANK NETWORKING CONTRACT

3Com Corp has signed a $50m contract for a high speed data network based on Asynchronous Transfer Mode networking with the Deutsche Bank AG, as part of a $1bn modernization of its information technology systems. The network was upgraded from an existing SNA network, using 1,400 3Com switches to an IP optimized network on an ATM backbone, using Superstack IP switches, and CoreBuilder ATM switches. á
