ZyXEL Communications, a provider of secure broadband networking, internet connectivity and routing products, has launched P870HN, a VDSL2 gateway with embedded 802.11n wireless technology.

The company said that P870HN can automatically switch between high-speed VDSL over PTM and legacy ADSL2+ over ATM, allowing operators to use one device for subscribers both inside and outside the VDSL2 loop.

According to the ZyXEL, the P870HN features Universal VDSL2/ADSL2+ functionality, a bi-directional, high-speed VDSL2, VDSL connection with speeds up to 100/45Mbps in PTM mode and 24/1Mbps ADSL2+, ADSL2 and ADSL connections in ATM mode.

In addition, the P870HN allows service providers to design their QoS policy and prioritise services such as IPTV and VoIP to increase network efficiency and brings triple-play to residential users. The TR-069 remote management feature allows service providers to remotely manage and configure devices without end-users’ manual intervention.

Brian Feng, senior vice president of key accounts business unit at ZyXEL, said: “IPTV and HDTV are important services for differentiation and revenue creation and home networking is paramount to families today. With the P870HN, ZyXEL offers Telcos a complete, one-box solution that meets these needs along with flexible deployment options.”
