Struggling social gaming firm Zynga’s executive overseeing its major online poker game, Zynga Poker, has made his exit from the firm.
The quitting of former Zynga Poker general manager Laurence "Lo" Toney has been confirmed in his LinkedIn profile where he had modified his current profession as a ‘mentor at MuckerLab.’
According to AllThingsD, in addition to GM for Zynga Poker for two years, Toney has also worked as a general manager in Zynga’s mobile division.
Toney said in an email that exit is less about Zynga and more about the vast number of opportunities that currently exist in the Valley.
"I have been approached by several organization to lead teams and companies that I find exciting and compelling. It is the right time for me in my career to move on," Toney said.
Launched in 2007, Poker was Zynga’s first game on Facebook and it has about nearly 40 million monthly active subscribers.
The firm has recently seen exits of chief operating officer John Schappert, chief creative officer Mike Verdu and chief marketing officer Jeff Karp.
Zynga is expecting its bookings to be ranging between $1.085bn and $1.1bn over the earlier anticipations of $1.150bn and $1.225bn.
