ZTE’s Tania starts selling in UK

It is Chinese company’s first smartphone launch in UK in 2012

The Chinese PC accessory maker ZTE has unveiled its first own-brand phone in the UK, which is named Tania.

The handset comes with Windows Phone latest operating system device, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango.

Priced at £199.99, the 10.7mm thick smart phone features a 4.3 inch touchscreen display, WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resolution, 4 GB of internal storage, among others.

Weighing 158g, it runs on a single core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM 825 processor, an Adreno 205 GPU and 512MB of RAM.

Other features include a 5 megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, geo tagging, and GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth to connect with internet.

In the UK, ZTE is a new player with new products such as ZTE Skate, Libra and Tureis.

The Tania is the first in a series of smartphones that are to be launched under the company’s own brand name in UK this year.
