Telecommunications equipment and network applications provider ZTE has launched Grand X LTE (T82), the new single-chip LTE smartphone.

The new smartphone from ZTE will be available in Asia Pacific and Europe in third quarter 2012.

Grand X LTE (T82) phone runs MSM8960 chip from Qualcomm, which is based on advanced 0.28nm technology. It also offers WiFi capability and a maximum download rate of 100M.

ZTE’s new single-chip LTE smartphone comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, 1900mAh large-capacity battery and a 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU.

It sports an 8 mega-pixel main camera that supports 1080p HD video shooting and playback and a front camera that supports 720p HD video calls.

The new LTE smartphone sports buttonless design resembling a mini tablet PC, the company said.

ZTE is also displaying other LTE products at CommunicAsia, including the V96A LTE tablet; MF91, the TD-LTE/EDGE multi-band UFi product and the MF821 LTE wireless network card.
