ZTE has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Malaysia’s 3G mobile service operator U Mobile to deploy a 100 Mbps wireless network across key cities in Malaysia.
Under the agreement, U Mobile will extend its 42 Mbps mobile network to Central, Western and Northern areas of the country by the second half of 2011 for the first phase.
In addition, ZTE will install LTE platforms, which can support 100 Mbps across Malaysia in future.
ZTE said that the deployment of high-speed wireless network is part of U Mobile’s efforts to support the government’s national Economic Transformation Program which aims to improve broadband access across the country.
ZTE Asia-Pacific region president Zheng Bang said the company is committed to working with U Mobile to offer the fastest-speed mobile broadband service in Malaysia and to showcase U Mobile via their state-of-the-art technology and solutions.
