ZTE launches new WiMAX/TD-LTE dual-mode Remote Radio Unit

Multiple-input and multiple-output and beamforming technologies

Telecommunications equipment and network offerings provider ZTE has launched ZXMBW R9110, a new WiMAX/TD-LTE dual-mode Remote Radio Unit (RRU).

ZTE said that R9110 supports 2.3G/2.5GHz and 3.5GHz spectrum band and features a 4T8R design and advanced antenna technologies such as multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) and beamforming (BF).

ZTE vice president Songpu Zhao said operators are facing the challenge of how to leverage their existing technology investments while remaining competitive and the company is addressing this market need with R9110.

"In addition to improving the speed of network deployments and significantly reducing the network total cost of ownership, it provides operators with a smooth migration path towards 4G," Zhao said.
