ZITEL HAS RAM DISK/SMALL SYSTEM TOWER

Meantime Zitel Corp, Milpitas, California, reckons that it can enable users of low-end Unisys Corp B1800 and B1900 machines to reduce input-output access delays by 75%: called RAM disk/Small System Tower, it is claimed reduce memory access time to 10mS from 40mS – which can save two to six hours a day in batch environments and improve terminal access times three- to four-fold; the product costs $60,000 for the 32Mb version, $90,000 for 64Mb.
