Following the introduction of multiple colored computers with Apple Computer Inc’s iMac, peripheral vendors are now beginning to join in. Using Iomega Corp’s Zip drive technology as a base, French peripherals maker Archos SA launched its version of the 100Mb Zip100 MiniDrive at Cebit last week, in blue, grey and silver. Archos has its US base in Laguna Hills, California. Iomega last week cut its prices by $20 to $130 for 100Mb drives, a move likely to take the street pricing down to $99. It says it aims to keep the price of the drives set at around 10% of the cost of a PC.
