ZILOG CLAIMS VICTORY IN ITS LITIGATION WITH NEC

By CBR Staff Writer

Zilog Inc, Campbell, California, still an uneasy appendage of Exxon Enterprises, is claiming a significant victory in its litigation with NEC Corp over the Japanese company’s alleged non compliance with the 1983 agreement under which Zilog was to second source NEC’s V-series microprocessors: Zilog’s claim alleges that the continuing litigation between NEC and Intel Corp makes the consideration given by NEC to Zilog, for second source rights to the V-Series inadequate; NEC’s motion for dismissal of Zilog’s claim was denied by the court.
