Zentec Corp has Genisys 9000, a desktop computing and communications machine that can be configured as an MS-DOS-compatible microcomputer, a graphics or Unix terminal and an X Window-capable network device: it uses the 16MHz 80386SX chip and is based on a wedge module containing logic, power supply and industry-standard keyboard and video interfaces, while operating system software is provided in non-volatile memory; the thing can be configured with Zentec ZM386 firmware embedded, enabling four MS-DOS sessions to run concurrently; samples are out now, but the product ships end of July when a wedge module with 1Mb memory will set you back $2,665.
