Zenith Electronics Corp has gone to its existing partner, Sudbury, Massachusetts-based Focus Enhancements Inc, for PC-to-TV technology that converts a PC video output to television video input. The deal, worth a minimum of $12m, will allow Zenith to exclusively integrate, market and sell the Focus technology under its own name for the next 15 months. There is a non-binding option to extend the deal until the end of 1988, with potential purchases of up to $30m. Zenith already had a integration deal in place with Focus for its PCZTV color televisions, and also sells the technology packaged as the PCZ150 external peripheral, through retail channels (CI No 2,870, 2,932). The Focus technology works with both Windows and Macintosh-based personal computers.
