Groupe Bull SA’s Zenith Data Systems is to launch four new notebook computers in the US this week, including one with an active matrix colour model to be available in June when all the others also arrive in Europe: the machines will be designed for networking, with Ethernet ports and networking software from Microsoft Corp, Novell Inc or Banyan Systems Inc pre-loaded; they will use the 80386SL microprocessor and weigh just under 6 lbs apart from the colour model which is 6 lbs 8 oz; prices go from $3,600 to $7,230 for the colour model; they will be similar but far from identical to the machines that Zenith is to manufacture for IBM Corp, according to the Wall Street Journal.
