Yahoo! Movies says its new service, powered by Cambridge, Massachusetts-based ChoiceStream, matches users with a list of films that it claims will fit their individual preferences. The site also enables users to rate movies and compare reviews of others.
The movies listed on the service include those being shown in theaters, on local television and new releases on DVD or video.
In addition, Yahoo! said its Movies site has been integrated with Yahoo! Shopping to enable Movies users to find show times, buy theater tickets and order a DVD online. The service also offers trailers and clips, news items and box office ratings.
ChoiceStream said its software is designed to analyze reviews and build movie profiles which are then matched to Yahoo! subscribers.
