Web-ranking newcomer Relevant Knowledge, which made a big splash with its first web site popularity contest in May (CI No 3,403), has released a ‘vertical markets’ follow-up by ranking business and financial domains based on the same research. Notching up nearly 7 million unique visitors made Yahoo Business Network the clear winner, with Quicken hard on its heels at 5.3 million. Microsoft Investor, CNNfN and the Excite Business Channel, all reaching between 2 and 3 million, battled it out for a distant third. The survey is based on a panel of households recruited during the company’s March, 1998 random-digit telephone campaign. Participants downloaded proprietary tracking software to their PCs at home, work and school. á
