Google Sites led the US explicit core search market in July with 65.8% market share, followed by Yahoo! Sites with 17.1% (up 0.4 percentage points) and Microsoft sites with 11.0%, according to a report from research firm comScore.

According to the report, Americans conducted 16.6 billion total core searches in July 2010, with Google sites accounting for 61.6% of share, down from 62.6% in June.

Yahoo! Sites US’ total core search market increased to 20.1% in July 2010, from 18.9% in June, while Microsoft sites grabbed 12.6% market share, down 0.1 percentage points versus June.

Ask Network grabbed 3.5% of the US core search market (down 0.1 percentage points), while AOL Network accounted for 2.2%, remaining at June levels.

In July 2010, Google accounted for 10.26 billion search queries, followed by Yahoo! sites with 3.35 billion queries and Microsoft sites with 2.11 billion searches.

According to the report, Ask.com search queries increased by 1% to 588 million from 584 million, while AOL search network queries were down by 1% to 365 million from 368 million in June.
