Ellen Lary will serve as the vice president and general manager of this team. The division employs 100 developers in Colorado. The general manager of the Seagate advanced storage architecture (ASA) group, Steve Sicola will take the position of the chief technology officer for Xiotech.

We think that the ASA technology will in time transform the market’s perceptions about storage capacity, performance and reliability, said Casey Powell, president and chief executive at Xiotech. In time, we expect the ASA group to provide significant additional revenue to Xiotech.

The ASA division in Seagate was also formed five years ago to develop ‘next-generation architectures’ for Seagate’s OEM partners, which include IBM and EMC.
