XING’s MPEG AUDIO COMPRESSION SOFTWARE

Arroyo Grande, California-based Xing Technology Corp has announced the release of XingSound, an MPEG audio compression program. It offers real-time CD-quality compression and playback to users of 16-bit 44KHz sound boards with on-board Analog Devices Inc Personal Sound System signal processing chip sets. The product plays compressed MPEG audio on any Windows-compatible sound board and provides a simple user interface for record and playback, and offers user-selectable capture rates from 4K-bytes to 56K-bytes per second. XingSound includes a software-only player enabling MPEG audio files to be played back on any Windows-compatible sound device. XingSound requires an 80386 or 80486 box with at least 4Mb and any Windows-compatible sound board. The XingSound introductory price is $100.
