Xicor, Milpitas, California, has announced the industry’s first 1M-bit EEPROM, but don’t get too excited – it’s only four of the company’s existing 256K CMOS EEPROMs in a leadless chip carriers, but is pin-compatible with the monolithic 1M-bit EEPROM planned by the firm.
