Xiaomi has reportedly launched a new Bluetooth-enabled Mi game controller at its recent gaming event in China, marking its foray into the mobile gaming peripheral market.
With Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, the $16 device can be connected to smart TV, Android Box, smartphones and tablets, among other Bluetooth enabled devices.
Resembling the Microsoft’s Xbox controller, the new game controller is powered by 2xAA batteries and two built-in motors.
The device sports a D-pad, analogue sticks, Y, X, A, and B buttons; and two shoulder buttons on each side; in addition to a back button, menu button, and a home button.
The Chinese smartphone maker claims that the controller offers 3 axis accelerometer and its battery can last up to 80 gameplay hours.
Currently only available to Chinese customers, the new 220g Bluetooth Gamepad offers 10m working distance while measuring 156 x 104 x 65mm.
Some reports claim that the Mi Bluetooth Game Controller was originally launched late last year, but only limited to Mi admirers for ‘testing and evaluation’ purpose.
Xiaomi started 2015 with the launch of its Redmi 2, followed by a new flagship phablet, the Mi Note, and the Mi Note Pro together with the Mi Headphones and Mi Box Mini.
