XEROX OFFERS NEW VERSION OF 3700 LASER FOR OFFICES

By CBR Staff Writer

Xerox Corp has a new version of its medium-speed Xerox 3700 Laser Printing System configured for use in office and engineering document production locations that have an Ethernetwork installed. The Xerox NS 3700 Laser Printing System Release Four Series can be linked with Xerox 6085 and 8010 workstations in an Ethernet, and can print complex text and graphics documents on paper up to 11 by 17. The printer does 300 dots per inch print at up to 24 pages a minute and is aimed at shops wanting 20,000 to 60,000 pages a month. It uses the Interpress page description language and can receive data from any Interpress workstation or computer such as those running Xerox workstations running ViewPoint, Expert and ProCAD software, and documents from a DEC VAX running Xerox Network Systems software. It has 1.5Mb image generator and 50Mb hard disk, and is out now in the US at $33,985.
