A Xerox led consortium is set to win a major outsourcing deal with the UK Government Department for Work and Pensions to provide document management services. Although the contract has not yet been signed, the parties expect to finalize a deal by June which is expected to be worth approximately 400m pounds ($787m) over seven years with an option to extend it for a further three years.
Xerox is leading a consortium called iON, which includes EDS, Accenture, CEVA Logistics (formerly TNT Logistics), Remploy, The Stationery Office and TNT. Assuming the deal is finalized, iON expects to begin the transition and transformation of services on June 1st.
