Xerox Corp has formed a voice systems division in El Segundo, California to market voice-related pro-ducts and integrate them with other Xerox office products. The new unit will be part of the Xerox Special Markets Group. The company says that the Xerox voice message exchange product family has es-tablished a good position in the voice store-and-forward market and the aim now us to extend its position to related voice-product areas. The Xerox voice message exchange systems are networked, computer-based, voice mail, or store-and-forward, sys-tems. They store messages automatically in voice mail boxes and are compatible with PABX and Centrex systems. As well as the XVMX product family, the Voice Systems Division also will market Personal Computer-based, voice-system management software and an on-line speech synthesis directory system.
