New financial services start-up X.com Corp points out that it is one of only three single letter domain names to be registered before the old InterNIC ceased allowing them. When it launches its full site in the fourth quarter (see Top Stories), X.com says it will be the first single-letter domain name introduced as a major consumer brand. The other two one letter domains are q.com and z.com, both portal sites owned by A Lasting Impression Music Corp. That company was founded by Geff Gold, who in 1998 sold the domain name Go.com to Walt Disney Co for its joint venture with Infoseek Corp.
