Dubbed Xcelsius for SharePoint, the software lets business users customize the characteristics of charts and graphs displayed in their SharePoint Portal applications. Built-in interactivity also allows users to perform what-if types of analysis on the underlying data feeding the displays in real-time.

The software is crafted around a series of unique interconnected graphical Web parts that are used to select and represent data.

Xcelsius for SharePoint is the latest addition to Infommersion’s Xcelsius line of products which also includes: XL, a standalone Windows version; XE for dashboard generation based on Macromedia’s Flash technology; and XRS for Microsoft’s Reporting Services and Great Plains, Navision and CRM solutions (XRS is scheduled for availability in August).

Xcelsius for SharePoint is slated for general availability this September. Pricing has yet to be determined.

San Diego, California-based Infommersion made the product announcement at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Minneapolis this week.
