Wyse releases new C class thin clients

Ensures a lighter load on the central server to improve user experience

Wyse Technology, a provider of thin computing and client virtualisation software and hardware, has released the Wyse C class, the new thin clients that feature rich multimedia using a separate hardware graphic accelerator for enhanced performance in its class.

Wyse claims that the new C class clients local multimedia performance also ensures a lighter load on the central server, enabling the company’s Collaborative Processing Architecture to deliver the improved user experience using VMware View 3.1 and TCX software on VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft virtual environments. It also supports Wyse WSM zero-client provisioning software.

According to Wyse, the new C class client features include: DVI-I dual display video output; two PS/2 ports; optional Wireless b/g and n; Kensington Lock Slot; 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet port; and four external USB 2.0 ports.

The company said that the new C class client is powered by a VIA C7 1 GHz processor and an hardware graphics accelerator delivering enhanced video and multimedia playback. It meets the ENERGY STAR Version 5.0 specification.
