Wyse Technology Corp, San Jose, has announced the WY-99GT terminal, which the company describes as the first terminal that offers complete ANSI, ASCII, and IBM Personal terminal compatibility with graphics in one unit. Compatibility with graphics standards, such as IBM’s CGA, Hercules, and Tektronix 4010/4014, is provided through the terminal’s graphics co-processor. The WY-99GT can be used in either ANSI/DEC VT-220, ASCII, or multi-user AT environments by changing keyboard options. Wyse claims that the terminal is the first to offer VT-220 compatibility and high resolution with graphics – the VT-220 is text-only. Users can select either 10 by 10 character resolution or 10 by 13 resolution. The WY-99GT is available now in the US and costs $649.
