According to Wyle, the acquisition will increase its 2008 annual revenues to approximately $800m and headcount to approximately 4,200. The acquisition is expected to close in early 2008.

George Melton, chairman, chief executive and president at Wyle said: While we have some major contracts in the information technology field, this acquisition will enable Wyle to significantly broaden its presence in the information technology services sector and add key new contracts and customers that will complement our current client base.

Wyle said that RS Information Systems will become its fourth business unit, joining the aerospace group, life sciences group and test, engineering and research group.

The IT services market is in the midst of consolidation. Last month, Dell acquired desktop services management company Everdream to expand its presence in the IT services market, while in October, India-based Quintegra Solutions acquired PA Corporation, a US-based IT services company.
