Soothing noises from Siemens over the future existence of the Nixdorf Targon range have, it appears, failed to convince 8870 users that their interests will be looked after by the future Siemens-Nixdorf Informationssysteme. According to Computerwoche, they have formed a pressure group called the Interessenverband der Nixdorf-DV-Anwender, whose first press release categorically states: First we shall go the way of co-operation, but will resort to confrontation if required. The first attempts at co-operation will be made at a meeting of the group later this month, at which representatives of both Siemens and Nixdorf have been called to speak.
