Liam Strong, former chief executive of Sears retail group, has been appointed head of non-American operations for WorldCom Inc’s non-American operations. Not content with dishing British Telecommunications Plc’s bid for MCI Corp, WorldCom has thumbed its nose at the UK financial establishment as Strong attracted many city critics after his performance at Sears.
