Who says different workflow systems can’t interoperate? At the annual Association for Information and Image Management conference, AIIM ’98, the Workflow Management Coalition and the Document Management Alliance plan to stage a live interoperability demonstration, Standards at Work. The aim is to replicate a business environment, where suppliers and clients run workflow environments from different vendors. With internet-based industry standards in place, the various systems should be able to share documents and exchange information freely. Bedford, Massachusetts-based Staffware Corp has already agreed to take part in the interop demo. Staffware has also said it will unveil the latest version of its Java workflow client, Global V2, at the event. AIIM ’98 will be held in Anaheim, California, from May 12-15.
