WORDPERFECT CORP READY WITH UNIX IMPLEMENTATIONS OF ITS WORD PROCESSOR

By CBR Staff Writer

The good word from WordPerfect Corp at the Comdex exhibition the other day was the announcement that it would be shipping Unix versions of its eponymous and widely-used word processing package from June: the new implementations include Intelbased machines running Santa Cruz Operation’s Xenix or Microport’s Unix, as well as Unix System V on AT&T’s 6386 workstation and Sun Microsystems’ Sun-3 workstations running SunOS. Versions to run on DEC, Hewlett-Packard, Motorola and Pyramid Unix hardware are expected by the third quarter of this year.
