Comments made buy the chief executive of one large Czech systems integrator to the effect that IBM Corp is still suffering from a pre-revolution mind-set in some of its longer established East European subsidiaries were given added credence when it emerged that IBM’s Czech’s subsidiary refused to sell pcs to Dunn and Bradstreet, and instead casually referred it to one of its local dealers. A Dun & Bradstreet Corp informant told Computergram that he got the impression it was regarded as a privilege to buy from IBM, although the situation was rectified after the firm approached IBM Vienna and asked if it would kindly inform its local subsidiary that the company did have a world-wide corporate account.
