DBV-Winterthur said it needed an upgradeable solution that would add centralized storage management while maintaining the highest levels of storage protection across its two remotely located area networks.

Furthermore, the company was looking to implement a campus wide virtual SAN for flexibility and to overcome the performance degradation associated with combining its two existing and separate computer center SANs.

According to Winterthur, DataCore’s independent, virtualization solution met these objectives. On top of this the company was able to add services that allowed it to record chart performance data, capacity and frequency of use at a particular time as well as over extended periods. Useful abilities that allow DBV-Winterthur to monitor performance hotspots, poor utilization, and to improve system use and predictability.
