WinMagic launches new version of SecureDoc encryption for Mac OS X Snow Leopard

Supports DoD common access and personal identity verification security cards

WinMagic has launched SecureDoc v4.9 for Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard, which will support Snow Leopard in both 32 and 64 bit kernel modes.

According to WinMagic, the SecureDoc v4.9 for Mac OS X Snow Leopard will support both the DoD Common Access Card and Personal Identity Verification security cards. Users benefit from SecureDoc’s operation and support features while administrators benefit from central management across multiple operating systems and endpoints as well as management functionality.

The SecureDoc for Mac OS X Snow Leopard features AES 256 true full-disk encryption to protect sensitive data, pre-boot authentication, SecureDoc Enterprise Server central admin console to enable deployment, user support, centralised management and reporting consolidated across Mac and other endpoints and support for encryption of external USB drives, the company said.

In addition, it allows organisations to deploy any combination of hardware/software-based encryption with transparency for users and a consistent management interface for administrators.
