Personal Library Software Inc of Rockville, Maryland is ready with Windows Personal Librarian version 3.0, a Windows 3.1 implementation of its text retrieval and document management software, which is claimed to bring mainframe database administration concepts such as concurrent updating and transaction integrity down to the personal computer and local network level; other features include the ability to index and search MicroSoft Word and WordPerfect documents in their native formats and the ability to perform database administration while users are searching live databases; it is said to be in use for on-line document retrieval and in-house support applications at Apple Computer Inc, ICL Plc, Unisys Corp and Groupe Bull SA, and in CD-ROM applications by the US Library of Congress for the American Memory Project, the Financial Times, the Independent (London) and the US National Agricultural Library; no price but it’s due out this month.
