Willows Software Inc, the Saratoga, California firm with ersatz Win32s operating environment, expects to have its Application Programming Interface for Windows-based Twin technology for Unix out on the Internet in both source and binary form by January 31. Last week it set up the professional service programme on which it depends for turnover and divided it into four tiers. Developers are offered aid in using Willows technology for $250 for a basic subscription, $1,000 for standard support, $5,000 for premium support. It left the price of its strategic consulting service open to negotiation. It remains unclear what the differences are. It looks as if everybody gets upgrades four times a year.
