WICAT TO PRODUCE COMPUTER-BASED TRAINING SYSTEM FOR NORTHERN TELECOM’S TRAFFIC OPERATOR POSITION SYSTEM TERMINAL

Struggling Wicat Systems Inc in Orem, Utah, has had a splendid fillip from Northern Telecom Inc, which wants the educational computing firm to to produce the computer-based training system for the Canadian’s new traffic operator position system terminal, which combines toll, directory assistance and other customer services at a single telephone operator workstation: the systems are scheduled for delivery to telephone operating companies from this November and Wicat’s offering, under a contract worth around $6m, comprises a turnkey system with enhanced digitised audio for quality voice reproduction; a multiplexor interface to enable Northern Telecom’s proprietary software to communicate with the Wise training development and delivery system, which will come with fully redundant processors.
