About one third of IT managers are already embracing hybrid cloud, while 37% are keen to adopt it, a new study has revealed.
Hybrid cloud storage is a combination of on-premises and off-premises solutions. In May 2014, Tech Pro Research conducted a survey to examine the understanding of this technology amongst professionals.
During the global survey of 138 respondents, around 93% claimed that they were aware of the technology. However, the number of people who are unaware of the concept belonged to small organisations, where they do not have the infrastructure required to install and maintain such a system.
When it came to implementation, of the 128 respondents, one-third stated that they are already using this cloud storage solution, while 37% were considering the option, and the remaining 30% have no plans to adopt hybrid cloud storage solution.
These results were similar to a research conducted by Microsoft previously, which stated that only 68% of organisations will adopt a hybrid cloud model in the next two years, which is a 19% increase compared to the present hybrid cloud adoption rate.
The research also showed that there were more hybrid cloud providers being evaluated than being used. Microsoft was the winner in both the aspects while Amazon and VMware took the second and third spot.
Amazon and Cisco were being evaluated than being actually used, according to the report.
