WHITEHALL COULD SAVE 12% ON THE ANNUAL PHONE BILL BY SWITCHING TO MERCURY

The government ministries in Whitehall could save 12% on their UKP280m annual phone bill by switching to Mercury Communications Inc from British Telecommunications Plc, says the Comptroller and Auditor General, John Bourne, who is recommending that the switch be made.
