White House recruits IT advice

The CEOs of EMC Corp, AMD Corp and Verisign are to be appointed to the US President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

By CBR Staff Writer

Joe Tucci of EMC, Hector Ruiz of AMD, and Stratton Sclavos of VeriSign will be part of an intake of fourteen new members to the 24-strong council.

Leaving PCAST will be Gordon Moore, chairman emeritus at Intel Corp, and Micheal Dell, chairman at Dell Corp. Moore and Dell’s resignations have yet to be officially received by the White House.

PCAST was originally established by US president George Bush senior in 1990, to give advice from the private sector and academic community on technology, scientific research priorities, and math and science education.
