Novell Inc has announced a new version of its MS-DOS-based NetWare MHS messaging server: the enhanced version delivers directory synchronisation, support for longer user names, enhanced asynchronous communications, and a better administration interface; NetWare MHS v2.0 is a store-and-forward messaging service designed to meet the needs of small businesses, professional offices, workgroups and departments; NetWare MHS v2.0 will also be available in a Standalone Edition, previously called Personal MHS, for multiuser messaging with NetWare Lite and other MS-DOS-based peer-to-peer networks; NetWare MHS v2.0 will be available in the US by mid-October at $300 for 10 users, $700 for 50 users, $1,000 for 100 users, and $1,600 for 250 users; the company has also announced that it has begun shipping its NetWare Global Messaging Handling System.
