Reed International Plc’s Reed Exhibitions has cancelled the Which Computer? Show, which was to have taken place at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham this April: the company claims that late decisions not to participate and a generally lower demand for spaces at the show influenced the decision; the show organiser is also closing down its Richmond, Surrey-based computer and electronics division with some redundancies and future work will be carried out from the company’s Solihull office; the decision also puts the future of the Open Systems Show, due to take place next November, in doubt – Reed spokesman Ian Melville stressed that Open Systems had not been cancelled, but that a number of options for its future were under consideration – one possibility is the merging of the show with the bi-annual Communications Solutions Show in Birmingham, set for 1994.
