Which hotels around the world provide the best Wi-Fi?

A new website rates hotels based on the quality of their Wi-Fi.

By Amy-Jo Crowley

A new website says it can predict the speed of Wi-Fi connectivity for thousands of hotels around the world.

Hotelwifitest.com, which tests and predicts Wi-Fi speed, has ranked more than 108,000 hotels by the speed of their Internet connections.

The site shows expected Wi-Fi speeds for the hotels, mentions whether it is free or paid for, has confidence ratings, and gives a range for the Wi-Fi connectivity in the hotel.

"The prediction tool works in a similar way to the actual thought process of an experienced traveller," the company said in a statement.

"People who travel a lot know that Wi-Fi is faster in some cities and countries than in others, that certain hotel chains provide superior internet services, and that a number of other factors affect Wi-Fi speed."

According to the site, the top 10 hotel chains in order are: Andaz, Le Meridien, Radisson Blu, Four Points, Scandic, Sheraton, Crowne Plaza, Marriott, Hyatt, and Residence Inn.
