WHAT CONSTITUTES “READER-FRIENDLY”?

By CBR Staff Writer

As a hopelessly reader-baffling publication, Computergram has to sit this one out, but we’re pleased to see that Rupert Murdoch is becoming versed in the terminology of the computer industry: according to the Observer, he summoned the editors of his British papers to the US to inform them that he found The Independent reader-friendly with the implication that his Times and Sunday Times were reader-hostile… but we can’t think of anything much more newsagent-, newsboy- – or come to that, reader- – hostile than Mr Murdoch’s plan to expand the Sunday Times into a multi part 500-page doorstop as heavy as a telephone directory or two.
