WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC ORDERS A CRAY X-MP/48

Hot on the heels of Cray Research’s breakthrough $20m supercomputer order in South Korea (CI No 941), the company has announced that Westinghouse Electric Corp, acting as prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, has ordered a Cray X MP/48 worth $17m to go in at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.
